Ford 3000 tractor problems.

I have a 1969 Ford 3000 gas tractor with about 2410 hours on it. The tachometer recently stopped working. I pulled the gauge cluster, disconnected the tach cable from the tach and started the tractor. The shaft in the cable spun. I reconnected the cable to the tach and reinstalled the cluster. Make sure the connection is tight at both ends. Disconnect one battery cable connection before trying to tighten either the starter wire end or the switch end. Pull the starter and visually inspect if there are missing ring gear teeth. Starter cables should not get warm unless starter is locked. Apr 30, 2015 · The Ford 3000 that I have on the farm had a problem with the power steering. There is one small leak but it is very minimal, but I seem to keep losing the oil. I took the pump off and disassembled it. There seems to be quite a bit of play in the shaft (22) and the front of the pump (29) where the large gear is that runs on the front of the engine.
