Since that time I tried many of Aquilino’s other Vago mezcals (Tepextate, Mexicano) and they are among my favorites.

Probably my favorite Mezcal right now. Zack got it perfect – clay, chocolate, flowers, smoke. This drinks like a really sophisticated mountain grown chocolate. It’s wet and earthy and balanced and has so much to say. The finish is all in the nose where the clay and lavender really come out from the cocoa notes.Extremely easy to drink no alcohol on the initial taste very smooth. IMO, may be a good mixer, but for the price, better options out there that fill that purpose. This “innovation” of being a cristalino just strips the juice out of its potential richness and complexity. Feels thin and watered down, some smoke, no depth, vanilla notes come out, but maybe due to some additives present.Apr 30, 2022 ...
