Apr 13, 2022 · the red triangle keeps coming on with the water temp light but goes right off but no heat. Replaced the thermostat it worked for about a week. I have a obdII no codes. Took to a shop they said 12V and hybrid 49% both replaced 3.5 years ago. Red triangle and no codes on el cheapo OBD2. Took it to our trusted mechanic, said the red triangle was giving the thermostat code. Thermostat replaced and red triangle is intermittent. No code showing up for his snap on scanner. Oil level is fine. Anything else to check?After engaging the safety interlock, it would take 3 on/off cycles to clear the red triangle and the fault code would go into "historical" status. Disconnecting the battery accomplishes the same thing and totally clears the fault memory. To answer some questions. The issue happens when the HV battery bars are at any point. Two bars to full bars. The issue occurs when there is heavy acceleration. The cars accelerates fine to a point and the there is a lack of power and the triangle and problem message occur. Just today the temp icon came up on the MFD.Normally when the car doesn't start, you can reset it by disconnecting the 12v battery for a minute and then try again. It should start at least 1 time. If that doesn't work, then you have a blown fuse. I don't know which fuses to check for on the gen 3. I have disconnected the 12v many times.I got up to about 30 mph and the red triangle appeared again, there was a beeping noise and the car would no longer accelerate. I had to trun the car off and back on in order to get it to go again. I got home and hooked up the ODB sensor again and now there is a second code of P0A90.

The codes on the MFD are for audio and Navigation (if your car has GPS). You need a generic OBD2 reader to read some codes. Best to use miniVCI w/ hacked Techstream.
